Dai Anga's tomb was under scaffolding and somehow more beautiful for it. Gulabi Bagh gateway in low sun, and a shrine keeper who insisted on feeding everybody.
The Grand Trunk Road out of Lahore is lined with Mughal monuments nobody visits: a gateway to a lost garden, a wet nurse's tomb, a kiln older than the Fort. We drive, we stop, we walk in.
